I have found these irons, exactly the same as sergio plays on tour, reduced form £699 to £249.99.

Available in the spec I want I am going to have a try with them.

Seems a bargain too good to resist, especially when I have been offered trad-in of £140 on my 755's.

I personaly dont like TM, but the RAC irons are super easy to hit. Not tried the TP's but for you, at that price, it would be rude to look over them.

Mate, they are so sexy probably the best looking on the market. If you can play with them go for it, still don't really understand why you want to make the game harder for yourself, I would wait until I was in the low single digits before even thinking of these.

Being a Titleist man, I shouldn't like these, but I have always hankered after a set of these. At that price I am tempted to get them as a second set. Wish you hadn't pointed them out. Damn.

I know what you mean about Titleist chris.

i think we all have brands we dont like and taylor made is mine. It was a real wrench to get one of their putters but it was the best I tried so so be it.

Will be hitting this on the range and off the grass tomorrow but I really cant see it working that well for me.

I have to say I don't like Titleist clubs. Not sure why because they have a devoted following on here and they always make top qulaity gear. A friend has a set of AP2 which look good and I hit well when I tried them. I think as much as everyone has a brand or two they like we all have one that we don't like for no real reason and Titleist are mine

Hit the AP2 today and they are great irons, I was so tempted to go with them I just had no feedback from the face with them.

Dont have a brand I dont like but have gone off Wilson Staff after the lies they made when releasing the Di7 + 9 clubs about new technology when all they did was reduce the loft.

I think there’s a little mix up here. Sergio does use RACs but it’s the “muscle back” job like here. http://www.taylormadegolf.com/product_detail.asp?pID=86 They’re way difficult to hit consistently. Definitely for the much better golfer that’s for sure and I know of only one golfer who uses them and he’s just went back to his R7 TPs.

If this is the club your talking about http://www.discountgolfstore.co.uk/1491/TaylorMade-Men-s-RAC-TP-Irons---Steel-Shafts.html
then they’re a few years old in the design stakes but still good bats.

I Agree with TOMO21, I also got mixed up. The ones Sergio uses are not for us "normal" people they are strictly freak only.

I was getting worried for a minute, I have used the RAC MB TP and couldn't hit it well to save my life, even good strikes seemed to lack distance. I am quite strong but they feel very heavy in the head and have a marginal sweet spot- if you can hit these well you should be off 1 or 2 max. These are what Sergio uses.

The clubs you are on about are brilliant! I could hit them pretty well (much easier than the others) and the feel is great- I think from what I have heard you say about your game these should suit you reasonably well- still above your ability level I think, but you could get used to them. Why not the Cobras anymore?- you seem generally undecided and confused as to what club is for you (hence starting two different threads so soon after each other) so I think you should be careful not to rush into anything and regret it- take your time and try as many models as possible (mid range clubs as well as players irons) and then make a decision. I know how easy it is to follow urges you get towards different equipment at different times but its not always a good thing. Also you say they have the clubs in your spec, I think from what I have read you haven't actually been custom fitted fully (I maybe wrong) so how do you know this or are you going on what you 'like'? If you haven't had a fitting get one, try a few different clubs in different specs and wait until you can undoubtedly say you prefer one over all the others. Also you can't guarantee a transfer of specs from one brand to the other so if you have been fitted before have you been fitted for taylormade irons as you may find something much more suitable here which is different from say your titliest specs.

Just my opinion and best of luck with finding your sticks.

You're right Homer.

Mine's TaylorMade. Don't know why but to me they just don't feel right.

Tongue firmly in cheek here and no offence meant to TM users but to me they're the default brand for someone who has no imagination - same with Vauxhall cars. "Don't know what clubs to get - better get TM "

its just i've tried TM before and never ever hit a good shot with one.

I'm sure its just me
