Got our pro to tape up one of these this afternoon and went out to give it a go. Set it to 10.5 degrees loft and 1 closed to square the face. Definitely getting more distance from drives out the middle but the biggest thing was how much more accurate the off centre hits were while still going a good distance. Roll on tomorrow when I can start hitting it with the tape off.

Was looking at one in our pro shop today (out of interest only, would never buy one) and was wondering how that dial thing on the sole of the club works.

One of my playing partners has had one in the bag for the last few weeks while his r11s was sent away. He hits it a country mile and has helped his accuracy as well. Shame his clubs back now!

I have got an extra 25 yards carry and rolls out a mile once you hit it out of the centre, and keep your arms out of the swing.
great club, worth every penny, get your correct setting and your hitting the best driver for your game.
Hit it straight and long.

I've never really got on with any TM stuff I've hit, aside from an r11s 3 wood I hit once, but it wasn't much of an improvement over my cleveland

I find them really really long esp the drivers

I thought this was how the intial adjustable clubs worked, now I thought you could alter the loft without altering the face angle?

you can - you use the dial (face angle) in conjunction with the hozel adjustment (loft), and the weighting as well if you wish/need, to give you the overall set up you require.

Taylormade have an app available to tune your R1. Load your settings and it asks if you want it to fix a problem or create a shot shape, then tells you what settings to try.
