TAYLOR MADE PENTA

No, because most of us won't hit it hard enough to make it work, and I would guess it will be about £50 a dozen. 4 piece balls haven't really caught on, so I don't see why a 5 piece will be any different.

To an extent, most of us don't hit ProV1x's hard enough to truly benefit either. A classic example of the 4 piece.

Is this going to knock the pro v off its perch?

I doubt it - the Pro V has the name and its been the leader for so long nothing will shake it off its perch - except time.

My brother in law was telling me that he and a friend bought a batch of balls of ebay. The BIL was not impressed that the mate took all the Pro V's. When I opened the box i was suprised to find it full of mixed pearl Titleist balls with at least 50% Pro V's - I told him this he simply replied 'no that aint thats a number 3 and thats a number 4' With a brand so well established as a market leader it will be hard to remove them.

I found a brand new ProV1 in the heather on the 17th at Hankley Common yesterday... lovely it was, shiney and new with a "Woburn GC" crest emblazoned on it.
I used it on my tee shot down the final hole.

It's still at Hankley Common

Man, you are on fire tonight!

I tell you what, that's a hell of a slice to get from Woburn to Hankley. Must have gone into a passing car. I don't know, cheap courses.....too many passers by.

Looks good, but there are so many great balls around. Pro V1x, TP Red, Z Star, Cally Tour ix ...

I know, it's scary.

I'm using Callaway Diablo, suggested by AG instead of Dx2.
Another good ball....not in Z star or Pro V league but good enough for me. (£17.99)
