Target Course(s) for Next Year

Not sure how many ill manage. Determined to make beau desert and, more locally, really want to play st annes old links. Drive past it going to the in laws and always looks appealing.

Royal Lytham would also be nice right enough and the ones round southport are on the radar at some point

Only played a little in Scotland so will be hoping to get a couple of trips up next year to play a course on the Open rota, and hopefully squeeze a couple of "less expensive" courses in on the same trip.

If you do make that trip there's plenty of us miserable Scots who'll sign you onto our home track if your in the area.

In this neck of the woods the ones on my wish list are: Sunningdale (both), Queenwood, Wisley, West Sussex. Slightly further out, would add Broadstone, Ferndown, Isle of Purbeck, Remedy Oak, Hayling, Crowborough. The next level out: Rye, Littlestone, Notts, Sherwood Forest

If I can get the time, I would love to get up to Turnberry as we have a reciprical - I think it is £45! :D :p

Would like to do a few events next year - really looking forward to Cooden again as I have some time to save up for

some new balls (!) and Beau Desert. I hope to add a couple of other courses either sie of these two events.

Other - many links to play. Like all of the heathladn courses in this area and hope to sneak a couple of games - Wentworth West at £360 plus caddy won't be among them!

I am really looking forward to hearing about what changes they plan to make at Bearwood as we have had the architect on site over the summer and his report is with the directors - I have heard some of the ideas and love the sound of the proposals I have heard - just need to find out what is approved - although it will be a multi-year plan.

Happy to host people at Bearwood - just let me know, although I only play at weekends

Add Parkstone to you list. We have courtesy's including Ferndown, Stoneham and Hayling. All well worth playing.

Played Isle of Purbeck in a society for a number of years, but the course become quite scruffy and we stopped going. They have a lot of rabbits !

Will happily swop you a game at Blackmoor for your course.

Cheers Craw, will take a few of you "miserable Scots" up on that offer :)

Crawfors right, jaysus some they Scots are miserable ole shites.... ;) Theres also some happy go lucky Irish living in Jockland who would also get you a game.

Richart - your're on. Have played Parkstone a few times and really like it - from what I have seen I reckon I will like Broadstone more than Ferndown but want to play all the decent-rated courses so I can make up my own mind.

Parkstone is nice but not enough opportunity to use driver IMO. my group are looking at moving to Broadstone next year, but if we had the cash we would go en masse to ferndown. Heathland vs parkland. All good courses though!

Nice to have the choice of three such good courses. I have Hankley, Hindhead Liphook and Blackmoor on my doorstep, so can't complain :D

I'm due a trip back to East Sussex National next year. Hopefully to play both the East and West courses. They are my best course I've played so far.
I also fancy a game at West Hill Golf Club and Woking Golf Club. From the train they look like a really nice courses although a bit pricey.

Played West Hill, and it is a lovely course. Worplesdon and New Zealand are other courses in the area well worth playing.

We are spoilt for courses but as you say they are expensive.Courses in the area all drain well, so a winter game at winter rates is an option.

Smiffy - definitely - this Lydd excursion needs to be done because we'll all be taking the piss from the moment we get there. Or even before. Get it organised and I'll be there for sure.

Include me in on that one - a dream venue!

Chris

Seriously.
If you fancy a forum meet down there I'll organise one for the Spring.
A) It will be cheap.
B) You will find out what a shite hole it really is
C) It will be cheap
D) It will be a laugh
E) It will be cheap

Anyone up for it?
;)

Smiffy you forgot F) the kitchen will be shut when you get back in and G) you'll be the only ones in the clubhouse

The only redeeming feature was the full english before we went out

Invited a client to play Bogside a couple of months ago, instead he turned it around and invited me to either Old Prestwick or Royal Troon. Played Troon but would have loved to play Prestwick, but can't complain.
