Flying out to America next week with virgin and realised it is a free service that you can take your golf clubs with you .
Anyone done this before ?
It says on the website you can only take a dozen balls and maximum weight is 23kg.... I imagine they are not gonna open up your bag and count your balls ? Ie as long as your under 23kg will they really care if you have 20 balls in there ? Can you also stick your shoes in the side of your bag to save weight on your normal luggage ?
Never done this before so don't want to turn up and get stung for additional charges !

Cheers

Yep I normally put a beach towel in mine, extra shoes. As long as it's under 23kg it shouldn't matter. As long as there isn't something electrical in there, I'd say you'd be ok

All the same as above. As long as it's under the weight they wont care. I've traveled for work to a conference and put 70 odd phone chargers in with my golf clubs and with clothes and shoes, no issues at all.

I normally put my wash bag, wrapped in a plastic bag in with my clubs on way out.
And all golf gear, shoes, waterproofs etc
All the dirty washing goes in on way back.

I doubt that they ever do a ball count

Cheers all . Useful advice as planning a bit of a spend when out there so nice to know I can use the bag for extra storage 👍

Make sure your golf shoes are clean, I've been made to get them out of my suitcase for them to check, they can be very particular about soil contamination.

Nothing odd at all.

I was going to a conference as was giving them away to the attendees as branded merchandise for our company. Emirates didn't question it at all, was it even checked???

This isn't as strange as the year we have a sexual innuendo as our theme and someone had to travel with loads of furry handcuffs.
