I won't have much room in my hand luggage and having never been on a golf hol before not sure if they will have expensive prices to buy out there or is there cheap lake balls??

Can't remember any courses abroad that didn't have pick-up balls for sale - found the best selection ever at the class courses in Belek.

Yeah it's always best to buy balls when you get there, dangerous to take them on a plane. The compound in some modern balls can become unstable above 32,000 feet and cause the balls to explode.

Check with your airline first to find out the cruising height of the plane

that has to be a load of rubbish. Thats how high my driver goes

Surely a golf ball would only be unstable at that altitude outside of a pressurised aeroplane. Mind you, I think most humans would be unstable up there too in that condition.

Really? I take them on long haul twice a year and ain't suffered any explosions, in fact airlines don't even mention it. I'm sure balls made in Asia are flown in at higher altitude than 32'000

Sounds like an urban myth, up there with declaring a ball lost.
