I have struggled with dry/cracked feet over the past 4 months (brought on by playing golf) and started to develop a deep sore fissure on my left foot.

Went to a podiatrist today (first time ever) and got my feet filed (about 150 pounds of dry skin..... yummy) but have been advised to keep off my left foot for a week :(:(

I also have to moisturise relentlessly for a week and get into a habit of doing so daily.

Does anyone else have a foot care regime they have to follow?

Not just golf related, but for those that are prone to blisters and maybe have a particularly long gruelling physical event coming up. Applying surgical spirit to your feet with cotton wool every night for a couple of weeks before is great for toughening your feet up; although strangely they don't feel physically hardened much.

Picked up on this tip before a particularly horrible course that involved many, many miles (often in wet boots) with lots of weight strapped to me - never suffered so much as a single hot spot.

I do have to maintain a foot regime, but only on the orders of HID:)
Bodyshop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue. Absolutely brilliant stuff. You have to listen to women. They know about stuff like this.

I played Saturday and Sunday and ended up with gout on my big toe joint and a bunion forming on my little toe. Popped to the doctors and got some Dicloflex anti inflamatories and played 22 holes yesterday. Got up this morning and the foot feels ok, I feel fitter than for a long time and. Looking forward to tomorrow's comp - 58 holes in 3 days and it was sunny and warm!
