What it says on the tin really.

The typical British tabloid is, IMO, nothing more than a vile comic, written by morons for the benefit of ill-educated or frequently bigoted cretins.

You are of course entitled to an opinion however bigoted!

If you don't read then how do you know? Don't knock it until you've tried it

I have never spent a penny on one of them but I know what their agenda is by seeing "newspaper" reviews on TV, listening to phone-in radio shows, being active on Twitter and reading popular social media?

All papers have an agenda, they just go about it in slightly different ways. And people generally read the paper that is most aligned to their views, so it's a circus of reinforcement.

I was listening to 5live on Saturday morning and a journalist was on defending the decision to do a 7 page spread about the Queen and this footage in "that paper" her doing a Nazi salute.

He was very defensive of it until he was asked if he thought the police would be interested in how they got their footage seeing as it came from the Queen's personal archive, he started stuttering and his tone soon changed.

So these bigoted cretins are infrequently OK?

Sadly no. The frequently refers to the target audience that the morons write for.

The bigoted cretins are simply just that really and remain so as a constant in this particular context.

In my experience they (the afore mentioned bigoted cretins) seem all too keen to lap up the vile witterings offered by the so-called journalists peddling their proprietor's nasty agendas.

Is there actually any totally unbiased media out there at all ?

That was supposedly the role of the Independent!

But, as HK posted, most Brits seem to prefer their newspapers to reinforce their own views, its circulation is tiny compared to the 'bigoted' ones!

On any (week) day, my preferred selection would be Torygraph, Times, Indy and Grauniad. Weekend papers are generally a waste of time and newsprint - which is a shame really, as the supposed simpler deadline should give proper journalists time for better analysis!

So you would probably describe yourself as a kind of 'All seeing eye' regarding what vile witterings the proletariat/vast majority of the news paper reading public (bigoted cretins) 'lap up' . I can only imagine what power of enlightenment that gives you.

 I'm 110% with you on this!

It's getting scary!

Oh what a shame! One goes through life with that faint hope that the 'Oracle' will one day reveal it's self to us and darkness will be lifted from our eyes. Guess I had better rest up my half brain before it self combusts.

Surely that's the Editor and/or Owner of whichever rag that happens to match then reader's political point of view! That way there's only half a brain required to 'follow the leader'!

Pigeon holing someone by the paper they read is misguided.

I don't buy a paper, but read the local paper and the mail online. I don't agree with their politics or general view on the world, but I'm really interested in kim kardashian daily comings and goings:)

To paraphrase a great modern poet....
"and the public gets what the public wants"...

you our want to change the media? Change the people first.
