Morning guys

I'm preparing for the battle that is xmas and I've decided to get my daughter a tablet as she loves my iPad. Does anyone have a budget (sub £150) tablet that they would recommend or even warn against.

Amazon have just reduced the kindle fire to £99 which is very tempting as she doesn't need anything to flashy. It just needs Wifi. Does anyone have one?

Cheers, kev

No worries! No idea what they are like, just won it! We have an iPad in the house, and the mrs doesn't want it. Ebay here it goes!

For your budget then, will be android based.

 manufacturers should think more about product names
Lol indeed, reliably informed it is pronounced aye-nol. :D

I have one of their earlier models (aurora) and it is grand for what it cost new, the later models have dual and quad core CPUs with even higher resolution. The IPS screens are great.

Nexus 7. The standard model is £150 and has a front facing camera. Had mine for a few months and love it

I got my daughter a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 10" last xmas, she loves it. It's over budget but worth the extra money IMO. I did get £50 cashback on it as well which sweetened the deal, maybe there'll be more offers on them in the run up to December this year.
I have a Galaxy Note 2.0 7" as a work phone, although it's pi$$ takingly big as a phone I don't think it's acceptable as a pad (I'm relating to the 7" version of the Galaxy 2.0 tab).

second hand ipad?...they are so much easier to use than any android platform.

I bought my son (3) a Nabi for xmas last year and although it is child proof its not got a full google play app store, great spec though.

Just noticed in today's paper Tesco have released a tablet for £60, not sure what's it's like but I'm sure it would be adequate for what a kid would need, it's called the Hudl.

The Nexus 7 gets my vote. I've had mine for almost a year and it's great.

I've got a Nexus 10 which is probably out of the price bracket, but if the 7 is anything like the 10 then go for it as the 10 is ace. I also think they are bringing out a new Nexus 7 any day now so you may get some bargains on the existing version.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to pop to Tesco and have a look at the Hudl. The wife works there so I get an extra 10% off

I give me a chance play with a few :)

Just had a quick look on the net and it has a front and rear camera which i think you were after? Comes in diffrent colours, 16gb of internal storage and a micro sd slot that can handle up to 32gb cards.

Only problem is that i got the price wrong, it's £119 but you can get it for £60 if you have Tesco Clubcard points.
