So teh old IPOD dies; i buy a SANSA Clip+ off the web, which is supposed to just allow you to drag your nusic on the comuter into its memory and away you go

However when i drag teh music in my ITunes library across it doesnt register /recognise it - presumably cos ITunes saves all my music in some odd format.

Dont want to reload all my CDs back onto the computer again (and my wife says cos she still uses Itunes, it will just copy them back into an Itunes library)

Any quick way of sorting this ?

Help

Investigating right now...will return.

Probably not needed to start a ripping marathon just yet!

Not that I can figure. :(

I can't actually access the "files/folders" that iTunes stores the music in. What this means, essentially, is that grabbing and converting is going to be tough. iTunes DRM is also very efficient about protecting the files.
The only music I can grab for possible conversion is music originally imported (as an mp3) into Windows Media player or originally imported by Sony SonicStage (AAC format).

There are software packages out there to circumvent iTunes DRM, BUT the most efficient is for apple mac platform.

On your behalf, I tried to see if a Linux computer could "see" the iTunes files, but also, no luck.

Guessing you are on a windows computer/laptop, my suggestion would be to keep the iTunes library as is, and rip 1 or 2 disks a day either using Windows Media player (use the mp3 setting and NO protection) or the software that came with the SANSA.

f.w.i.w. it seems a good idea to never rip "bought" CDs into iTunes.....

If I have any luck, I'll get back.

I thought all the anti Itunes people say that MP3 players are simple ....
