Just been watching the World Triathlon from Leeds. Now these fellows are fit.
However I was intrigued by the Tv presentation where a motor cycle carrying a cameraman heads the front runner by about 10 yards!
So, if that is a petrol engine on that motorcycle then what the hell is that front runner breathing in?
And he's not shallow breathing either.
Does anyone know if the motorcycle is electric ( are there such things?).
If it isn't , it seems a bit daft to me.

A quick Google shows there are electric motor bikes but the range is around 125 mile mark. Add on an extra passenger and hills and the range decreases quite a bit. Whether it decreases to the extent that it wont go the full course I don't know. I agree, it doesn't sound fun for the front runners. I'm sure it will come at some point.

I was waiting in my car in a local retail park while Mrs Socket did a bit of shopping, it was a hot day so I opened the car windows to let in a bit of air. A guy in his deisel car next to me sat their also waiting but left his engine running so he could leave his air conditioning on, me and a few others had to inhale the carsniogenics emitting from his exhaust pipe. After a few minutes I got out knocked on his window and asked him if he could turn it off. He then without winding down his window told me to go forth and multiply before screeching off and parking in another part of the car park.

Nothing like a bit of good old consideration 👍

There's a public park, near Heathrow, where the local authority have advised people to no longer visit to exercise... And, folk still puzzle why a third runway is not welcome... Planting trees in the back end of nowhere, to offset the carbon emissions, is of no help whatsoever...

I try and do my bit and run an electric car but while on holiday I noticed that almost without exception every stationary coach I saw had its engine running to keep the A/C on. It will take a bit of serious enforcement to change behaviour :(

It's the ultimate 'conscience clearer' for luvvies. Numerous long haul flights but that's okay as they have paid to plant 3 trees in the highlands.
