Been really struggling with heel hits on my irons and driver for around 2 months now with the odd shank thrown in

Has totally messed up my swing and now taking a break as I am not enjoying it at all.

Was playing great for over a year and out of nowhere back came the heel shots and shanks

Has anyone got any suggestions or swing thoughts to ensure a toe hit rather than the heel?

I know that is simplifying things a bit but a swing thought usually works alot better for me rather than taking my swing back to square one and changing the whole thing

During the first few feet of your backswing, does the club go straight back in line with your target or does it come inside the line (nearer you and more round your body?)

I try my best to take the club straight back on the target line and not take it on the inside.

Could this be part of the problem?

I am a shanker and have had bouts of it for years, I watched a clip where you practise with 2 balls side by side (a couple of inches apart), you set up on the far ball but hit the nearer one, helped me enormously.

I now set up with the ball on the heel side of the club and just concentrate on hitting out of the middle (sometimes)
