Hi i have been and had my swing speed checked today and my swing speed is between 88mph and 97mph. it is 93mph average. Do i need a stiff shaft or a regular need some help guys

Varies from one brand to another and the characteristics of any particular shaft but based on swing speed alone you would be a regular. Stiff shafts are generally recommended for speeds in excess of around 95mph.

With a driver? Definitely regular.

hes on the verge of stiff going by those numbers. I take it you didn't warm up. just swung the bat 5 times and took an average.

there are many on here saying they play their best on the back 9 when they are well warmed up. if you swung the bat at 97 on a good one you may well be best suited to a stiff shaft imo

I just did x5 swings without warming up and funny you should say about back 9 i always do all my scoring on the back 9, i have even not scored on the first 5 hole and come in with 36 points, i would say first 3 hole i never score on.

Get a regular with low launch or low torque.

How do you hit the ball? High/low, what is your shot shape? Also what is your bad shot?

my trajectory is good, shoot shape is always to the right not a slice but starts out there trapman data and bad shoot shape is an awful slice like you have never seen

Then I'd say stick with regular, but look at getting a 'firmer' shaft. A lower torque rating would help, but you would be best trying some on a range to see how you go.

Some dangerous advice in this thread, The variances between different manufactures shafts are huge in some cases. I'd always advise a decent C/F to ensure you get what's best.

Swing speed is only the first step in determining the right shaft. Tempo is another important factor - the faster your tempo, the stiffer you need. But personal preferences on feel, distance versus control and other factors are important too.

And, as craw said, the words regular and stiff mean very little. Some regular shafts play stiffer than other stiff shafts. And some shafts have their 'stiffness' in different places on the shaft than others and can give rather different results.

Taking all of these together, I would be heading for a decent custom fitter if I were you.
