Experts, I have a question.

At the beginning of last year i was playing quite a wide draw, probably 15-20 yards of curve through the air.

It was a wide shape but our was a consistent shape that meant i would miss slightly right when it didn't come back enough. At this point my grio was more strong than neutral.

Through a series of lessons my pro decided it would be more beneficial for me to move to a more neutral grip to help reduce the curve.

My clubface was also shut at the top which was another factor in the change.

Over the course of last year i bedded the grip change to my pros liking however my golf has gone backwards and stayed backwards.

When we used the Trackman toward the end of the year it showed that i had quite a substantial inside path (+5°) with a 7 iron.

In conjunction with the new grip, i had to play the ball nearer where o would play a hybrid or long iron, purely to get the path into the ball more neutral.

When it worked it was good but i then had a 2 way miss. Which i still have.

Im considering chopping back to my old stronger grip, purely for consistancy reasons.

It will mean more of a curve, but the curve is much more consistent than i have now.

With not long having our second child, practice time is at a premium so im looking for more of a simple option to bring back a little consistancy.

I understand my pros reasons for the change, but I just cannot get the grio to suit the swing.

Any thoughts?

That appears, even going through frame by frame to be the exact same swing? But with the 1st one having better flow through the strike.
IMO you've payed a pro to mess with your grip and destroy your natural game.
I'd personally revert back to my old grip over winter to see if your game comes back. If it does then I'd say that would be your answer.

This might be something to work on along with (I'm one to talk  ) not whipping the club in behind you so quickly on the backswing.

Are you saying my swing repeats?

Doesn't feel like it

Yeah, can you put that in English..?
Not going to be any help to you Gaz, but I hope it comes together😀😀👍

You can go back to what feels comfortable and is consistent or..............

What ball flight would you get if you........

Aim your body just left of the green
Point the clubface at the flag
Use your old comfy grip and swing

I'm guessing the fade motion would help neutralise the some of the positive swing path?

If you aim left, your swing path will be at the target and if your clubface is pointing at the target.........

Daft question Bob, so I'll apologise in advance.

If the face is pointed to target and I'm aimed left would that not mean I miss left on the draw?

Less inside path but with the clubface aimed at the target, would the ball not initially start where the clubface points then curve dependant on the path (inside)?

Think of it this way
When you hit your draw, at impact your swing path is in to out and your strong grip has closed the face to the path.
If the face is open at adress and you swing as normal, your strong grip will square up the face to the path.

I see what you mean Bob, thanks

When Playing well the ball will start right and curve back, even with the strong grip. This is the flight I want back.

I understand my pro's line of less curve being better, but it's what I have to sacrifice to get the reduced curve.

I do like the idea of not changing too much though.

The only difference I can see is that you've lost weight
