with me nursing an injury i have been concentrating on my irons sw/9/7/5 and been really making progress but havn't touched the driver or fairway wood untill today.injury free i had a go but totally pants could neither hit it straight or any distance. any advice on how to get back on track please. used to hit a straight 230/240 ish drive now just garbage anything i have gained with my irons will be lost on the course unless things change.

Tim, your tempo will be a bit rusty after such a long lay off so keep your chin up. Once you have lost any niggling doubts about the injury flaring up and you open the shoulders it will all come back. I jarred my wrist a couple of seasons back and I was very tentative for weeks after coming back out on the course. Time will sort you out.

How I wish I could practise what I preach but I am also laid low after a bad fall.

I just had a week range lay off its done me the world of good, got a few tips from a local pro i started swinging really really flat. now im back to my best--ish should shoot a good score saturday!!

Not one to give advice............but.......one thing I would sugest is not to analyse your swing too technically.
I often make the mistake of stepping up to the tee box with a whole host of swing thoughts floating around in my head.
Result, a totally screwed up swing!

KEEP IT SIMPLE! Easier said than done but the less swing thoughts in your head the better.
