Hi all,

is anyone here using the Swing by Swing app for their smartphone? I have been using it for a couple of seasons now and think it's the best app I've tried. It has a wide range of functions and stats galore.

I've been keeping an eye on the game golf users comments, stats and have tried to get a look at what they're getting on the website.

What do people think of the smartphone app? Has anyone here used both GG and SBS? If so, how do they compare?
From what I'm seeing, I don't see much difference between between £150 GG and a free app/$10 subs for SBS.

for starters you can't use sBs in comps as your phone measures wind etc.

the app on gamegolf is good but it really comes alive on a pc

Haven't tried the Swing by Swing app but I did use GolfShot all of last year.

The best I could say for it was that it gave me SOME stats which were useful as a guide. Sometimes I would measure my better drives with it but certainly not all of them and very few other clubs. Unfortunately it doesn't compare to GameGolf for pure convenience in that with GolfShot I had to manually input the required data (whether I hit the fairway/green etc) myself at the end of each hole. You just don't want to be pfaffing with this kinda stuff when you're playing. The convenience of GameGolf (simple tag each shot) sealed the deal for me and it can only get better. The sheer weight of info it provides is astounding.
