Is there any similar tradition for "julbord" in UK. Restaurants starts 1 advent with Christmas dinner- we call Julbord- Its a large Buffe with typical christmas dishes. Companies often offer there employees to such event... consultants often offer there clients and faqmilies also go for such dinners. its a typical nordic tradition. is there a similar tradition in UK?

Tonight we will go with friends to the golf club and have such dinner- a lot of dishes, schnaps, beer and wine......looking forward to that and it also have been snowing for at least two days....christmas fever has arrived

Hard to say, these days, what a 'traditional' Christmas meal is here in the UK... One of my lads, a few years ago, went to a Christmas do at an Indian restaurant... Food/drink was far from 'traditional' but a great night out none the less... Its all about the company you are in and the 'spirit' of being out for a good night!

Its traditional for groups such as Golf Clubs, Employers, Societies etc to meet for a party and often a Christmas meal. There is normally much drinking of Beer,Wine and spirits as well :)
