I remember something being said about a potential new manager and never thought any more of it, racking my brains who got mentioned!!

They'll regret that...
But it was coming because he got Chairman Backing the other day.

Hard to believe that I have any more interest in the game to lose.....

Why not even a week ago and let the new guy sign a few players???

Football never ceases to amaze me...

It would seem the 2-nil defeat at West Ham and then letting the players have 2 days off so he could have a few days in Paris kind of tipped the scales.

I really liked watching them last season, they played some excellent football, they have had some bad injuries and in a small squad that's going to have a big impact. Seems their scared to go down and think a new manager could turn it around so have settled for the potential lesser cost of paying him off!

So they won a trophy, got into Europe and more than likely will survive another season in the PL. What do owners want from essentially a small club. Be realistic. You will never be a top 4 club so be grateful for what you've achieved

Should be surprised but nothing surprises me in football anymore. Got to agree with Homer, last season Laudrup & Swansea over achieved & now the owners obviously think they're better than they are.
I hope they get relegated along with Cardiff.

Wow seriously dumb decision yes he is having a tougher second season but I think the chairman has just condemned his club to the championship for next season

Been on the cards for a while I reckon. I tipped Swansea as one of the teams to go down on another thread a few days ago and reckon I will not be far off now. Seems like a club in free fall

£10 million pay off unless he went to another job... So if they stay up they have £80million if not they are at best -£10million. Hmm think I would have kept my powder dry and let him get on with it myself.

To be honest as a Swansea fan I'm glad he's gone, wish it was earlier though so we would have had a chance to re-organise in the window. Our form under Laudrup, especially since winning the milk cup has been abysmal. I think the moment we won that cup, his awareness of his own 'stock' and the position it put him in with the club and the players sent us on the downward spiral we are currently in.

He was always going to leave at the end of this season and our recent performances have been a joke. Its not helped his effort that our best player by a country mile has been injured for the majority of the season either.

I hope we stay up, but I'll support them in the championship regardless, I'll be able to get tickets again then anyway once all the plastic fans leave! :whoo:

Work will be fun tomorrow :D

In all seriousness there have been rumors regarding him leaving for 6+ months. I knew yesterday he was going and so did the majority of Swansea. Graham Jones? Martinez assistant at wigan is wanted to replace him with Bergkamp the next in line apparently.

If they are destined to go down that means my lot are only fighting against one of the other two spots, it may make life easier for us (Palace)
