We have a small but decently stacked shop at our club , but like most clubs at present members dont realy have the extra funds to be buying alot, hence the twos club , 2euro to enter & pot is divided between every1 that has a two , but rather than get the cash it is allowed as shop credit .. this generates cash for the shop on a weekly basis I think this is a great idea.. have any of ye got something similar ,

Our 2's pot is simply a ball sweep. The money buys a quantity of balls and anyone who gets a 2, gets a share of the total balls. Not everyone goes in it but I always do

All competition winnings go on to pro shop account, together with 2's winnings. Sweep money goes on club card to be spent in the bar.

Similar format here also.

£2 for the comp entry, £1 for 2's (for a medal there are about 140 players). Pot is shared between winners in different category's for the comp and between all the players with a 2 on the day for that side of things. Money goes to your tab in the Pro shop.

Very happy to support this as its part of the life of the club.

not got anything like this at ours and to be honest the first ive heard of such schemes. i think its a great idea. I try to support my shop where possible but do always haggle. They know if they do me a deal they will get the business, but sometimes it isnt possible for them to get near some of the online prices.

Take the R11, SRRP £329.00, Most online places were doing at £289/299, Direct golf had a march madness sale which was £299 less 20% which come out around the £235 mark. Thats £94.00 off SRRP or 29%, my pro said to be honestly " i buy them at that, i cant compete" he had no quarms with me buying elsewhere, but as a rule i do try to support my shop if they are there abouts on pricing.

You arent allowed to win cash from your comp entries I think. It has to go on vouchers or prizes. You can take csah for 2's though as thats a side bet sort of thing

At our place the two's go into shop credit.
A good source for buying ProV's, Snickers & Lucozade and not needing cash.

Yep. Cant tell you how many times someone in the groups gotten to the course, looked into their bag and forgotten to pack water, juice, snack, glove or more than a couple of balls and hasnt been to a cashline before hand.

I dont need to worry about supporting the club shop though, its been a Portakabin since the fire a couple of years ago and they never even have the fridge stocked.

£4 to enter the comps (monthly medals and stablefords) plus £1 into the 2's pot. Any birdie on a par 3, and you take a share of the pot.

It's been as high as £78 per person and as low as £8. Needless to say in the £8 group! :(

We get the winnings in the form of a voucher which we can then spend in the pro-shop or transfer on to our barcard.

All our comp winnings are pro shop vouchers. My pro is pretty good at giving as good a deal as he can (FJ Icon Myjoy for £160 etc), but can't always price match on things like R11. He doesn't stock a great deal but will always try and source something as competitively as he can. I'd rather try and use my pro and support him where I can as he has a living to make but he is realistic to know sometimes he can't help. I don't mind paying close to RRP or a fraction more than AG DG etc but once the price difference gets too high he knows I'll go with the best value for money.

Our monthly comps are £3 entry, our honour board comps are between £5 and £8 (depending on whether we get food or not).

£25 to the winner.
£25 nearest the pin (honour board comps)
£10 2s

All the winnings are in the pro shop.

I like the pros in our shop, they're decent guys so I'll happily spend what winnings I have with them.

Our pro and asst pros are all nice guys, always willing to give free tips and help out, our winnings are paid into the accounts though we do get GUI vouchers for placings which can be signed into the pro shop or any GUI affiliated shop, it always ends up in our pro's though.

Our entries are anything between £3 - £6, which always includes £1 for the 2's sweep.

The 2's pot is split between however many got a 2, into a pro shop account.

Main prizes are vouchers which can either be put in your pro shop account, or on your bar card. Small comp prizes will be something like £30/£20/£10, while biger comps might be £50 for the overall winner, then £40/£30/£20/£10 for 1st to 4th in each of 2 divisions.
