Nope, they all go dead straight.
What the flip is a super game improving iron anyway and when does the superduper-straighter-longer- mega-easy-to-hit iron coming out?

Why is a lesson always a very last resort?

Ive only been playing 2 years and I have had 6 or so lessons.

Trying to hit draws and fades doesnt seem to go that well. Best score so far is 83, 11 over so im hitting it well and thinking of getting some smaller head clubs.

I did borrow a Ping i15 iron and that seemed a lot easier to move the ball left or right than the shovels that I currently have, would that be correct?

Yes, they are more manoover...manuver...manoeverable (I think) and if you're off 11, it may indead be time to try something new.

Mattie.

I changed from Mizuno MX19s to MX300s, not because I wanted to shape the ball, but because I felt it was time to move on. I didn't like the offset, the size of them, the lack of 'feel' especially on the shorter clubs etc. I'm not saying that I got to to a level of golf beyond what the clubs were capable of, but it was time for a change.

If you feel more comfortable looking down on a smaller headed club, and it won't ruin what game you do have, then why not change. But don't expect a miracle to happen. Only practice, lessons and time on the course will make the scores change dramatically.

Good luck, and enjoy the buying process. I was lucky enough to be allowed to use the demo club out on the course. Far better than hitting into a net at a golf superstore.

I have heard its gonna be lilac/pink and not for girls!

Personally I don't try and shape shots anyway. I tend to struggle with hitting it straight at the best of times. I know the theory behind moving it both ways and can do it but without any regularity and guarantee of success. I'd rather try and hit it straight onto the fairway, aim for the heart of a green and three putt from there.

I think it would be harder to shape the Super GI clubs as they tend to have a bigger offset anyway which I doubt will help and are all about getting the ball airborne and weighted to keep the club as square as possible.

If you are off 11 then I would have thought you were good enough for I15 or similar anyway. If you want to learn to shape shots why not go to the range and try and work it out yourself (plenty of help on youtube etc) or have a lesson and learn from the pro.

Have you ever hit a hook or slice with them? If so then you have your answer. You just need to learn how to do it.

To be honest, I kinda always hit them straight :D

I have a background in tennis so id like to be able to bend the ball left and right, just for the challenge! Left handed slice serve comes in handy, just ask McEnroe ;)

I think after 2 years of mad dedication it is finally time to buy some nice looking, less offset clubs as you guys say :)

Local range is pretty cool so I should be able to try quite a few. Looking forward to improving or potentially getting worse if I do get some new clubs!!!!!

You and I play off the same h'cap more or less and I generally hit it pretty straight, but I do hit hooks and slices and I'm sure you do too, not often but I'm sure you do.

However, if you fancy a nice shiny set of better irons then go for it and then learn to shape them if you want to.

Like Homer I rarely try to shape shots, I can hit a fade with my driver pretty much at will but struggle with a draw. I can hit a draw with my long irons if I have to but I don't normally try it when my h'cap is on the line. For the rest of my clubs I tend to try to play within myself. If I find myself with a shot that needs shaping I look for the 100yd marker and get my ball as close to that as I can and rely on my short game to make par.

I'm sure there are some on here who will tell me I should be shaping shots but I'm happy doing what I'm doing.

Get some mizzys and be done with it cause they are the only clubs that let you hit draws and fades ;)

and they look and feel 'effin booootifull.

With my old GI irons I tried to hit fades and draws and I ended up blocking them most of the time or only able to get a weak fade or draw. If I tried to hard then it hooked or sliced.

With my MP-57s I can draw or fade quite well, sadly sometimes not always on purpose. Thankfully they are hard to pull or slice so the worst I get is a greenside bunker or alike or the wrong side of the green.

1. Is it possible to play draws and fades with super game improvement irons?

2. I'm havinglittle success with my Di9s and am thinking I want to upgrade :)

Answer
1. Sure it is. Pop down to Shropshire and I'll show you.
It's quite tricky at times though...... :D :D
and it's certainly harder to judge......

2. Why not upgrade? If you value shot shaping over unexciting-but-reliable direction (in other words you hit most shots fairly straight and would like more control), try something less shovel-like.

I hit 4 or 5 draws and fades today with my irons, no problem. However, a few other times I wanted something specific, it didn't come off.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other.....
