Whilst seeming the rest of europe is bathed in White Stuff… Sunday sees me debut for the Uni 2nd team… ;)

And what a debut, sunny spells, a positively warm 6 degrees, and I'll be teeing off at Cruden Bay! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Sorry if this has driven the southern softies over the edge… but I can't wait!

Anybody got any tips for what to expect?

Cruden is absolutely stunning. My favourite course, It is quirky and has loads of blind shots. The 3rd goes slightly right! If you can hit the green on 7 with your second then you are a god. The bathtub green on 14 is best reached by hitting it to the brow and letting gravity take the ball onto the green. If you pitch it on it usually goes through. You have more space than you think on 15 and right is better than left. Don't try and land on the green on 16 as you will go through. The mound on 17 is rumnoured to be a viking burial mound from a battle back inthe day.

Hope you've got a GPS or a partner thats played it before or your goose is cooked. :rofl:

An another thing, its tight and the rough is deep, not particularly long so sacrifice distance for accuracy.
 
Played it once in their Open Hawklaw tankard, great track and some really nice golf holes.

My recollection is stubbing a greenside chip on the par 4 third, turning away in disgust, went to put club in bag, get putter out.............when I looked back at green my ball was still rolling ending up 2 feet from flag.......very fast greens!
