It must be my lucky week. i Get to choose between west hill, woburn or woodhall spa and to top it off i've just been Invited to play suningdale. has anyone played both new and old courses? Which would you choose?

I'm guessing you will get to choose between Peebles Beach and Sawgrass next week

I have played them both 12+ times. Both are magnificent but the Old is the best.

Others disagree, they are incorrect.

The first round is for gratis but they said we can play two rounds In one day ( both courses ) for £80 per person. Is it worth the extra?

^^ This is the correct answer

Yes it is. Both are fantastic courses, would be a shame to miss out on one of them.

Without a shadow of a doubt. Both are beautiful. Lunch is pretty spectacular too. Make a day of it - you'd be absolutely crazy not to.

I've played the New but last week Snelly and Drive4Show told me that the Old was better. Make sure that you do the halfway house!

Never played either but for £80 that's got to be a no brainer!!

In Your Opinion!!!!! As is the comma; it should be a semi-colon at least

I've played both a few times and have no preference! Both are magnificent! There are great holes and magnificent (golfing) views on both.

The Old has couple of holes that are a bit on the quirky side for the 1st visit (3, 9, 11?) and, solely for this reason, I'd recommend that, if only 1 can be played, you choose The New. You may not have a choice anyway as one is often a 2-ball while the other 3/4-ball.

Enjoy!

I thought I would enjoy the old more than the new after reading comments here plus descriptions of the courses elsewhere, but after playing both in one day I came away preferring the new.

If I had the choice of playing one for nothing or two for £80 I'd go for both. You never know if you'll have the chance again.

Can't go wrong for £80, both courses in summer would cost you £280.

Are the correct answers.

Old vs New? Old does have some quirkier holes, New is possibly a slightly stiffer test, but if it is only one course then it has to be the Old (there isn't a logical explanation, it just does) and you have to be extremely daft for not spending the extra £80! :D

Played the New back in September with Rob2, absolutely stunning course.

The Old has the edge due to its history and prestige but you cant go wrong with either of them.

Enjoy!
