just for anyone interested...........

Hard to beat Tom Baker and the last guy Matt Smith was excellent I thought......

hope it's a burd:whistle:

Dr Who one programme no matter how many episodes I see can i get into.

Just really can't stand the whole thing, shame really as it is cult tv show and has spanned many generations. Surely now would be a good time for a female Dr though!

Agreed

Helen Mirren was mooted at one point.

But, hasn't here been 12 doctors, or there is going to be a programme to show that Matt Smith is acually the 12th doctor and that there can be no more, as the Dr can only regenerate 12 times.

Or have I made that up?

 yup :whoo:

I saw the very first episode and have never really liked the programme since.

My suggestion. - how about Fairway Dodger?

Has it not been 11 so far with 10 regens (1 was original not a regen) so allows 13 in total. With 2 more to go it should allow them time to write in a loop hole to the 12 regen limit. I think the final episode of the last series did do a little to set the foundation for some timeline mess around to get round the 12 regen limit. Although it did feature John Hurt as the doctor so maybe only 1 regen left if he isn't the new doctor.

I knew I'd seen it somewhere, the new episodes, with the guy from the Harry Potter films playing William Hartnell, there was something in that where due to some time paradox, or something to do with the time lines, there have been 12 Dr's.

I think this is the surprise that will be presented, that in fact Matt Smith is the 12th Dr and not the 11th, that still means though there should be one more regeneration allowed.

However doing some digging on the web, it appears the the regeneration rule is an imposed rule by the high council and that Dr's can refer to the high council and request a new regeneration cycle, so the next Dr might not necessarily be the last.

Who was the mystery 12th. Matt Smith is supposed to be the 11th.

A quick search and there have been 12 actors playing the doctor but Richard Hurndall was playing the 1st doctor in the special because William Hartnell was dead.

In the new upcoming episodes, the story line is supposed to reflect some time ambiguities, where the Dr played by Matt Smith splits somehow, so he actually plays the 11th and 12th Dr's.

That's it. I'm going to hide behind the sofa. My mind has just exploded trying to get my head around it! I also forgot about John Hurt so one more doctor possible without needing to write in the loop hole.

The 12th Dr issue will have been sorted in previous issues, as anyone who has watched the previous few series will testify the writers seem to plan years in advance to plant little statements and occurrences which at the time seem trivial and then 2 years later are the key to many of the plot twists which occur. Only a few minutes left to see who will be Who.

Nope. I got in a bit of a panic there as I couldn't find the special announcement show. Then realised it's tomorrow . I'm not even that big of a fan! Just really enjoyed the shows with the Matt Smith (although Amy Pond may have had a part to play in my enjoyment :) )
