Summer over

The fairways are bone dry, the ball runs and runs, the greens are like billiard tables, it's brilliant you have to think about your shot, no more howking the ball into the air knowing that it will stop dead in its own pitch mark, I'm loving it.

At the minute anything pin high is off the back of the green, a duffed drive has the ball bouncing deep into the rough or trees, it great, shame I'm back to work tomorrow.

Im getting tired of it to be honest. The bone dry greens and fairways get very tiring when any shot just rolls of the back. No matter how much you lay up it just rolls until its in the rough. I dont think theres any more skill in hitting it 40 yards in the air and watching it roll another 80 yards... That and finishing the round with a soaking wet glove and shirt.

I don't quite think it's summer over but 3 weeks without a drop of rain it was alwasy going to happen at some point.
The forecast is ever changing at the minute as well. It was only Sunday that no rain was expected until Late Wednesday with thunder Thursday, by Monday that had changed to Tuesday.
I think this will act as a clearing for some more normal weather to return.

That's not the weather's fault, it's your greens staffs' :D

Our course is bone dry but the greens are still receptive to a properly struck shot.

Commonwealth games starts a year to the day next year. Bring yer brollies and wellies....

Ryder Cup 2 mths after that. Bring yer monsoon and warm gear:o

Am of to play some links, ground is dry at the doorstep just hope the rain stays away from southerness

Pouring down in Perth at the moment, and while I think our course will benefit from a spot of rain, I feel it might not stop for a while as Thunderstorms are being forecast, yikes!

We had thunder and lightning last night - no rain though

Forecast was for showers today but not a drop. I don't mind. Greens are still watered and are receptive so you just need to think about where you want to put the tee shot and how you want to play the approach (high, low, short or high) rather than just playing target golf
