Morning all, I'm after some golf shoes for the summer. The two pairs I am liking the look of are as below.

I’ve never owned a pair of Footjoys or Puma, tended to be a Nike man, but fancy a change.

Can anyone tell me (who’s owned some before) what the fit is like (I have quite a wide foot)? I tend to be a size 11 in the Nike’s but want to make sure what I order is going to fit ok.

Any suggestions anyone can make would be brilliant.

Thanks

Iain

Footjoy tend to be wide in my opinion. Ive had Puma's before and they tend to be pretty regular. Im currently wandering around in some really comfy Adidas street shoes and next on the list is a pair of the Ecco Hybrids both with moulded tread. Def the way forward for the summer not sure they can stand up to heavy winter weather conditions however. :)

If you have a wide foot you might need a wide fitting. Not sure how the Puma shoes are for width, but I have a pair of Footjoy AQL's in the wide fitting and would struggle with their medium size shoes. I tried some standard Nike shoes and thought they were more generous than most when it comes to width. Adidas for example, were quite narrow in my experience.

Have you got anywhere locally you could try some on?

I've got an American Golf down the road, but they don't stock either of the two pairs I fancy. I could go directly to Clubhouse golf as they're only in Salford...but it would probably take about 1/2 hour to get there. Might pop down at the weekend and have a proper look round....only concern is that the offer on the puma's will expire before I can get there, as that price seems a bit of a steal.

What's the point? we are still in mid-winter :)

Seriously, the Ecco's are good but a little on the expensive side for a pair of glorified trainers.
