Hello,

I am playing my first competition on Sunday at my club, it is a summer bogey and I haven't for a clue on the format and scoring of the competition.

could anyone help me on this?

cheers

It's a Strokeplay match against the course.

On any hole, if you score better than nett Par, you win the hole (+); if you score nett Par it's halved (0) and if poorer than net Par, it' a loss (-). Idea is to score greater than zero! If played over measured course and off Full handicap, it can be a qualifier.

If you lose the hole, you don't need to 'hole out'. There's a formula to convert scores to the 'nett differential' that is used for handicap adjustment.

It's amazing how consistent the course is!

The 'course' in bogey is probably the only opponent you will play against who has 18 pars!

If it doubt check with playing partners or worse case just record gross score.

Good luck and enjoy.
