I have acquired an elderly machine which cuts perfectly.
It has a speed control dial which I hadn't used. But having now tried it, I can't tell just what speed it is controlling.
Is it the speed the blades rotate at, the pace at which the main roller moves along the ground or both.

If its like the petrol version I had many years ago, it will be the walking speed only.

That's what I assumed but when I set to 'slower' it doesn't seem to throw the cuttings as far into the box. I'll check again when I cut the grass tomorrow (weather permitting).
