Finally had a good round today! I think it has been coming for a while, been playing well recently without getting the final score to show for it. It was a Junior Medal today as part of our club week. Lots of prizes to be won, including a U18 shield and a scratch competition, the only ones I was eligible for as a 17 year old Junior.
Started the round well and was generally very consistent, my only shocker coming on the 18th with a triple. Some good shots included and ended up with a gross 84, net 69, my best for a long while! Should be getting a cut down to 13.9 depending on CSS. Better news to come as I have won the U18 shield, the only other competitors old enough both had shockers. Also have a good chance of winning the scratch with a not too impressive 13 over par since most of the other 15 competitiors were higher handicappers, 20-28, giving me a good chance to win it. Would be very successful! Only wish my win had come over more competitors but I suppose you can only beat who's there!
Anyway, just glad to have an under handicap round for a change. Only bad thing about the round was that it took about 5 hours, since we were following the club championship, so happy I was able to keep my concentration.
