Well he's obviously not going to do it so I'll do it for him!!
CVG and myself played our first comp at Aylesbury Park this week - a roll-up stableford. First time for both of us off the whites but it doesn't really make that much difference.
We both struggled to 14 on the way out and then CVG came to life. A 20 point back 9 saw him home for a 34 total - enough to win Division 2 (in fact the best score of the day!). The fact that scoring was poor meant the CSS went to 72 from 69 - bringing me inside the buffer and no raise. No cut for CVG though.
Amazingly I ended in 2nd place in Division 1 with a 17 back 9.
So success(ish) for us both(ish) first time out. We are now moneyed men with funds to blow in the shop.
2 very happy bunnies!!

well done both

since I joined my new club - and ensuing handicap controversy (they insisted on new cards and put me off 27) -I have won two medals. (that'll larn 'em!)
Now down to 25, which will do me for now.

Hope you enjoy the new place - and your visit to the shop!

The annoying thing is that I had my double hit on the 3rd and blasted one OB on 13. take those out and I'd have won as well . Still beggars etc etc

Thanks IMurg, I was thinking about posting the results but as neither of us were cut I decided against it. What will we spend the money on?, I should try and buy some decent advice on how to play the front 9 on our course! Did the same thing on Friday as well. Perhaps we can play the back nine first and see if that makes any difference?

Anyway a great start back into competitive golf, will the next medal be as good?
