Despite topping my tee shot on the 1st about 30yds I shot a gross 77 today

4 birdies including the 4th and 16th which are our most difficult holes (SI 1 and 2). So that's nett 7 under the SSS and expect the CSS to come down 1 so will be playing off 10...yikes!

3 years ago I went to see my coach Paul Ashwell for the first time - very close to quitting golf as couldn't crack 100 (not even close). Then set myself a 5 year plan with his help to play off 10...looks like it's job done with 18 months to spare!

Happy days...yet feels weirdly scary too!

PS. Would say the most significant change was my mindset when on a GIR. "Birdie" rather than settling for par...

Looks like you and I have been on a similar ride, I was down a few months ago and picked it up these past 4 weeks.

Well done on your round, hopefully will play with you one day soon, pretty sure you will be single figures by then!

Thanks guys (and gal!) - single figures is the goal...

Science Boy - well done to you too. This game is a roller coaster ride for sure and 10 days ago I felt barely able to hit a golf ball!

Can I partner you in the next GM meet! Cracking play and still plenty left in there to get lower. Well done

Of course :-)

Thanks Martin. It's been a weird few weeks from hitting it as well as ever to hitting it badly off the toe to hitting it better than ever! Putting made the difference as well and proud to hear my playing partner say "you putted beautifully today".

That`s awesome, so great to see you reach your goal I am really impressed.

I love that you stick to your guns and keep moving forward. Big respect!
