Evening all, went for a knock around after work this morning and soon found myself stuck between a 4 ball and a 3 ball (3 ball was bringing up the rear) and the four ball weren't exactly getting a wriggle on either, so I soon had the 3 ball giving me dis-approving looks because things had all but come to a stand still and as if it was my fault so what exactly are "the rules" surrounding "playing through" because the four ball was the tail end of a comp and flat refused to allow me through because "they were in a comp" can anybody/is anybody able to give me some clear and decisive advice on the situation as it spoilt the whole round (I bailed after the front 11) and not just for me but the 3 ball as well, many thanks in advance !...

Well etiquette will dictate that the quicker group should be let through

But it's tricky if the group in front are playing a comp - did you know there was a comp going on ?

Not sure there are any hard and fast rules. If the four ball are in a comp then I can understand why they'd be reticent to let you through as you'll be going through the rest of the end of the competitive field.

That would be a good shout but when has sense been used? Some people will only play with their clique and no-one else regardless

Problem was buddy I was nailing just about everything this morning whereas they couldn't decide which fairway they wanted to use so I don't think I'd have fitted in very well !...:D

That really shouldn't matter the level,of ability or how people are playing

Of course your quite right and it wouldn't of made any difference as far as I'm concerned but they seemed quite happy doing there own thing which is why I don't think I'd have fitted in particularly well, I wasn't making fun of their ability cos believe me I have enough s***e days of my own !...
