Right, I have a 60 degree lob wedge that I have started to struggle using. I am now coming down on the ball too steep and taking a huge divot and lobbing the ball 6 yards in front of me!

Any videos or suggestions on how I can get back to hitting it 65+ yards again....

I really don't think of it as any different to any other iron in my bag with the exception of a little posture change because its shorter and moving to a narrower stance with the ball nearer to my right foot.

Why do you want to hit it that far? Very, very rarely do I use mine for anything over 60 yards, they are unforgiving clubs to use and learning to hit a controlled 56 degree wedge will be more consistant and will spin enough if you strike it cleanly.

It might have too little bounce for you. I had been using a LW with 4 deg of bounce and it didn't suit my swing as I'm more of a digger. Since I got one with more bounce I've had much better results.

Obviously you might not want to fork out for another wedge so........you could try having the ball a bit further forward in your stance. This will shallow the angle of attack in to the ball and also lay the face more open at impact which will mean you're making the most of the bounce on your club.

I take it your divot starts before the ball?

Yes my divot starts before the ball, and I have 6 degrees of bounce on my wedge. If I remember rightly, when I used to hit it well, I had 10 degrees of bounce and used to have the ball further forward in my stance. Will give this a bash on my round later!

If you are hitting the ground before the ball, no amount of bounce is going to solve that.

Additional bounce 'may' help you get to the ball if you hit a fraction heavy, but, at the end of the day, you're still hitting the ball fat. I'd look to solve this issue first before resorting to an equipmet change.

first place I would start with is ensuring 3 things at impact -

weight at least favours your left side

head behind ball

hands leading clubhead

interested as always in how things progress.

So you're hitting it fat??? Usually poor ball position, move it back a wee bit and see what happens

Agree with this though, about 35-40 is the max I hit mine! Strike needs to be to pure for anything over that for me and as an amateur I can't get it consistent enough.

I agree with this. A 60 yard shot is a half shot with a 54 degree for me. rarely to I go all out with any wedge tbh.

A good tip I read in one of the recent GM's (Darren Clarke may have said it ?) is to turn back and turn through and make sure your chest and arms are poiting at the target.

Where is your ball positioned in relation to your front/back foot ?
