My golf is seriously suffering at the minute due to outside influences. IN the last 42 weeks due to going away with work and visiting my fiancee in California I have only been in the UK for a total of 18 weeks, infact I have not played since mid November or even picked up a club.

I was feeling really good about my game this too. I got picked for the PING putter fitting by Golf Monthly and got the most perfect putter for me. It has definitely knocked at least 3 shots a round off. I changed the driver shaft and it has tightened up my dispersal. Then I got fitted for my new irons and once I got the handle of playing with cavity backs again I was putting together some pretty good rounds. Just a shame I never played a comp after changing all that stuff in my bag, I fancy I could have had a few nice cuts.

So I sit here now, no membership anywhere as it is not worth it as I only have about another 6 weeks left in the country before I emigrate. So it is not looking like I will getting to play much golf now at all. I think I am getting to the point I am getting withdrawal symptoms...........

I noticed that the_coach is in California, are there any other forumers out there? If I could set up any games while out there it would be much appreciated.

I will be in a new country starting a new life with no one to play golf with, someone please take pity on me...

Emigrating to California. Tough old life. Good luck on your new life and hope you and your fiancée have a long and happy future together. Plenty of good courses out there. Maybe you can start a US branch of the forum and maybe we can get a Ryder Cup event going!

Want a round at Belton Park this weekend mate. Think there is an offer of £15 for members guests at the monent

Get on with ya.

We moved to other side of the world where we knew not a soul and you know what we joined a golf club , you'll be right :)

And embrace your new handicapping system :D

Cheers Homer. I am looking forward to playing some of the courses out there. There is another forumer from California called the coach, s o you never know, maybe we could get a ryder cup match one day. All you would have to do is get across the water as I am sure if we had a team we could accommodate you.

It will have to be Sunday as it looks like there is a comp on Saturday (really should check these things). I can do any time that suits you as I am free all day.

Looking at the weather for Sunday it looks to be getting crappy in the afternoon, so a morning round would be fantastic. Also it's Mother's Day so I should maybe go and say hello at some point.

How about 9.00 sunday morning. If anyone else wants to join in to make a 4 they are welcome

Get yourself to Beau Desert on the 14th, well within your times frames, it can be your Swan Song :smirk:

I was coming to Beau Desert if you remember, but had to cancel because my fiancee is coming over on the 10th for a couple of weeks.

I know, get her to push your trolley around for you, she can see some of the great British countryside and a top track, she can sit down and eat with us all afterwards and see what kind of golf meets you've been involved in

I've not married her yet, do I really want to show her what takes priority in a relationship? It's a bit like sex, but the other way around. She will happily show you what it is like before you get married, but once that ring is on her finger..........
