I guess we all have days where certain things work and certain things don't, and for me personally it can be different areas of the game from round to round.

generally speaking I would say that my strengths are putting and mid irons, with driving and chipping being anywhere from great to diabolical on any given day.

so what areas of your game can you rely on when you play, and what areas tend to be a bit more of a lottery?

My putting is probably the strongest part of my game these days. Driver is easily the most inconsistent part of my game, from massive slices, nice fades/draws, big hooks, tops and long straight wonders.

So very frustrating off the tee at the moment.

Driving and chipping (and bunkers) a real problem but I tend to hit solid irons and count myself as a reasonable putter. On my day it can all come together but normally my issues start off the tee and if I miss a lot of fairways it simply never gives me a chance to find greens and that then puts pressure on mid-irons and then the short game. Interesting post and wonder what others will think

Most areas are pretty decent, especially when I'm on top of my game. Putting can be white hot sometimes, only 27 putts yesterday, courtesy of some good chips too, but a few of those putts where over 20ft, and one of about 50ft.

Driver is a machine, wedges are pretty good. Irons are pants and the putter is ice cold.
I've lost all but 5% of form and currently having a self imposed break from playing, or in fact touching a club.

My driving is pretty straight and reliable, fairway woods and irons from 120-50 yards are good. Inside 50 yards are pretty suspect, close to the green are flaky at best and putting is usually very solid.

Reckon my driving , course management and short game are my strengths

Long irons prob my weakness

All round quite fair really, took 26 putts today and quite happy with my chipping. I'm quite consistent off the tee if not massively long.

My biggest weakness is my ling irons / fairway woods / hybrids for me, scored well today one blob caused by a bad hybrid giving me an unplayable lie then having nowhere to go causing a blob

Not sure I have any stand out strengths.

Irons probably slightly better than everything else, tend to strike them ok. Pitching has improved a lot after a rare lesson and some practice time, who'd have thought it......

Driver, fairway woods, chipping and putting all pretty mediocre really!

I have managed to turn my driving into a major strength for me. I know I can get in play off every tee and have a lot of confidence in my driver. Also made a couple changes to my putting stroke and that seems to now be on the upward trend.

The major weekness for me at the moment is my wedges. Especially distance control and pitching. I can play a couple good ones then just all of a sudden lose it the next hole. This is where I plan to work on next in my game.

Iron play and chipping my strengths, but putting and driving letting me down, though I'm working hard on the driving ATM and seeing improvements!

I'm rock solid when it comes to dropping, can't remember ever missing the course.

(I don't wish to comment on any other aspect of my game.)

My weakness right now is that all of my game is a 9 handicap. Driving, chipping, putting, iron play.....the whole lot, and I am really showing no signs of improving. My comp scores over the past 12 months show that I have levelled out . I might shoot the odd 6/7 over a couple of times a year, but in the main, I hit buffer or slightly over.

I'm not too bothered, but it's the first time my golfing ability has stood still and I am tempted to get some assessment type lessons to see what a pro suggests.
