I was at a friends local pro shop at the weekend and they had loads of gear in ramping up for the new season.

Saw some lovely looking Mizuno drivers all spangly new, looked lovely, nice head shape, good shaft, I thought it was new tech as the price was £225 .......for an MP600:mmm: The MP630 also there.

Are the MP600 and MP630 still sought after and holding their value? a demo Titleist 913 is around £180 and yes thats second hand but seems quite a gap.
p.s The MP630 does have a really good head shape though:mmm:

Nope, you can pick them up new for £99....

Mizuno MP drivers look lovely but they are kinda short and unforgiving (as a generalization).

that is a bit steep, local place in Inversneck has the 650 driver, 3 woods and hybrides For £89, £69, £59. only thing wrong ith them is those made for shafts.

No kidding... I thought Mizuno stood by there made for shafts.

Those drivers have always been going for a lot less than £225!

I'm sure theres nothing wrong with them as such, just wish they offered more options

Yep, I have been digging at them about it on the Mizi forum for years. They have just announced a few other shafts for the JPX EZ driver but when I called to talk to my pro he said that Mizuno wanted to charge him to have demo shafts and he would not be doing that. He went onto say the "mizuno stick shafts perform exactly the same". I thought it was a glib answer as surly that will depend on whos hands they are in! Board of pushing them on it now.

They used to, ive seen and owned two MP600 one has as a stock shaft a NV65 and Prolunch red (still Have) and i've seen the 630 with UST Proforce shafts. I imagine Mizuno must make more money by only doing their own shafts

Yep and I totally get that but if they positioned themselves as Titleist do they (i guess) would sell more driver and have more presence in that market. We know whatever they make will be quality so it will appeal to the Mizuno/Titleist heads. Meh, it is what it is and right now I am told they cant make JPX EZ drivers fast enough, I just think as a long term plan they should go back to how they used to do it, there target market is golf geeks not the average weekend hacker.

I m not sure many even think Mizuno when looking for a new driver! I play with loads of low guys and i don't think ive ever seen on with a Mizuno driver in the 8 years ive played. Its prob more about brand loyalty if anything. The MX and now JPX was targeted at Mid to high handicappers and i see plenty of those using the stuff. Id have another Mizuno Driver tomorrow if its was sim to the MP630 head shape.

That price for an MP600 is staggering, anyone desperate for one can have mine for a quarter of that
