Has anyone got any drills for keeping the left arm straighter (backswing). I was admiring (?!) my swing in the mirror (teaching bay) at the range, the left arm is fine for the first bit then goes all gooeey.....I tried the DL one, but it doesn't work for me.

PS - does anyone have prob's with editing their signature?

Realgolfer, this is one I used to suffer from, dont stress about it though, a bit of elbow flex is ok but if it's really folding and bothering you you need to work on stretching the torso and shoulder muscles to allow a better body turn (get left shoulder under chin) and really work on the full cocking of the wrists, I use that speedstik thing (any weighted club would do) to set the backswing position and just hold it at full wrist cock and straight left arm - if you keep practising the position eventually it will become the norm. Winter is a good time to apply any changes so they're set in by next season.

I barely break my left arm at all these days and for a slightly overweight 6'1" fella I still get a good turn, its all about starting somewhere and half swings wil get you there eventually building it round a little farther until its approaching unconfortable then come back round a notch so its back to repeatable.

I have the same build....I think I will invest some time not hitting full swings....my swing is too long anyway (narrow and classicaly past parallel), so a shorter swing (7/8) keeping the arm in check could help me a lot.
