Stiff Salver - The Players.

One space with me and a mate to play in my clubs famous Stiff Salver this Saturday. - 7700yds of fun.

Par 72, CSS is usually 79 or 80.

Tee time 7:30.

Course is in fabulous condition at the moment

This is cracking day out, although the only time I did this was in torrential rain which wasn't fun. The 900 yard par 6 is a bit of a slog 😜

If my game was in a good place I'd have been up for this!!

Hasn't the long par 5 been chopped in two? (Or do they resurrect it for this event?) I liked the old 2nd and 3rd too....

We only play the old championship course layout once a month (midweek medal) and the 8th (now 7th and 8th) is played at approx 630yds. However for this event it will be about 700yds.

The old 2nd is now the 17th on the other course (yeah its a great hole still)

I was a member at Bowood before I moved over to Monmouthshire.... used to play Players Club quite often.... in fact, if the M4 is bad on the way home tonight, I might call !

I played at Rolls of Monmouth on Monday, quite a nice course, bad opening but after that its got some cracking holes!

Players is in top nick at the moment, worth the visit

I live south of there and am a member at Newport ... Rolls is about 40 mins drive, geared to Socs and when in good nick is great, but can be a little inconsistent
