Hi all, not posted much for a while but in my defence I've been playing golf rather that typing about it.

Going through a bit of a rough patch and not playing great on a consistent basis. Struggling in comps and feeling anxious.

If you have a tough spell, how do you get through it? How do you remind yourself it's a game to be enjoyed?
I'm struggling with the latter somewhat and need to get the love back....

Thanks in advance. .

For me, its a case of you've hit good scores before. You've had a run of birdies/pars before. You will do it again. Be patient and believe!

And if its a train wreck of a round I focus on having a good laugh with the guys, and forget the score... its just one of those days/weeks/months.

My golf has been poor recently especially the recent club championships but the company was good so giving up was never an option. I'm sure a good round is in me soon. SO just trying to enjoy it and take as many positives as possible

If I'm having a bad spell, I put the clubs away for a few days, come offline, watch a few films, divert my attention away from aimlessly swinging my arms in the kitchen and stop thinking about Golf 24/7. It usually works. Make yourself miss the game and it'll be worthwhile when you return.

Having one of those one step forward, two back kind of season. Some good stuff (including winning the June stableford and a small cut) surrounded by a host of 0.1's back. Hoped the win would lead to a purple patch. Didn't happen. I just go out with a clean slate and try each time I go out for a cut
