Looks like Stephen Gallagher is a man inspired. Fantastic run of golf and in second place and doing enough to qualify by right. He could even go on and win. Considering the position during his second round that's some performance

GMac is in I reckon

If Gallacher gets second or wins then believe Donald will miss out

I hope he gets a in and pretty sure GMac will. That leaves two and I'd be thinking Poulter and Westwood although I'm becoming less and less convinced that both of the latter will get the nod and it will be one of Westwood/Poulter and ANO. Molinari doesn't look great today so who else is a big question

couple of questions? Did Otto get away with moving (or oscillating) the ball on the first? And does Gallagher need 2nd alone to qualify or would tied 2nd be enough?

T2 with 1 other player would suffice

And yes there was no penalty for him touching the ball with club prior to swinging

Great effort but looks like hes gonna fall just short. Think hes shown more than enough to get a pick personally, think he would be hard done by to miss out

nice try Mr G, so close yet so far.

As to warranting enough to now get a pick I think that would be based on emotion as he's only had a couple of seconds in a year of competitive play, there are more 'tried and tested' reliable players who have played more on the bigger stage in the last 12 mths.

Plus a win in Abu Dhabi. Poulter and Donald haven't won this year

McGinley is playing his wild cards close to his chest , he said they will decide tomorrow, as there's still 2 rounds to be played in America . But not looking good for SG . Sad.

He has certainly thrust his name even further into the reckoning with a great performance

Is it enough ? Maybe - if picked i think he wouldnt let anyone down - a good all round player with a lot of grit in him

Bo hiss GM's Mr Howeller. Would have loved to see Gallagher get second and qualify. Great gutsy putt to make par at the last to cap off a great 65. Surely though as a captain you're looking for form players and he's definitely that. He was so far off qualifying in round two, to get to within a shot under that much pressure was impressive. As a Scot too the support would be huge. Personally, I'd go Westwood, Poulter and Gallagher.

he has played well this season but has he got the bottle when it comes to the big events,he made some basic errors to-day that cost him, dont think he is ready yet for the big one, maybe next time when he has shown his metal in the majors more.

He shot a 65 on the final day when the pressure must have been massive - should a hell of a lot of bottle out there over the last 4 days

In all honesty, apart from Gallagher playing himself to the verge of qualification and the likes of Donald, Westwood and Poulter, who realistically could be in the equation? I think Gallagher did enough to prove he could handle big pressure
