Staying in Enfield, London on Tue Night - need to play golf!

Crews Hill is nice. Near to you too. Not sure how easy it would be to get on, but worth a ring and ask (it is a members club I think, but if you phone and say you are a member at ... and that you are down on business looking for a game you might get on). Back 9 is superb, front nine is quite nice.

Brookmans park ditto, but probably harder to get on.

Trent Park used to be a nice course with some interesting holes - but I've not lived in Enfield for 7 years, so it might have gone downhill... So basically, this post is pretty pointless, and no help at all - sorry mate ;)

Keef,

I work round the corner if you fancy a game in the evening?

I'd say Trent Park is your best bet, easy to get on and a fun course to play.

lol - thanks for nothing Andy :p

I'm looking more for a quick knock on a muni to be honest, the lad who is travelling with me isnt the best golfer in the world and I dont particularly want him hacking a nice course to pieces.

Keef,

Heres a list, i cant play tuesday night as i have a lesson but wednesday i could.

Crews Hill, love course but tough for a hacker (your mate not you)
Trent Park, Nice course, part of the crown golf family
Whitewebbs, not a bad course, pretty ideal for a hacker
Bush Hill Park, lovely course but the hacker may get frowned upon
Picketts Lock, bit of a dump but cheap and the hacker would be more than welcome.

I personally would say to go for Trent Park or Whitewebbs.

Ah - I do have some useful input then - I used to play Picketts Lock quite a lot - its actually not that bad a course - totally open plan, so no tree lined fairways. As I remember, the greens used to be above average for a Muni too...

My reasons for not liking it are stupid really, basically it had hundreds of dragonsflys getting in my way during play, never been back since. Oh and i played terrible.

A vote for Trent Park but then I haven't played the others.
It's pretty cheap, pay and play crown golf so almost a muni, most of the course is good to very good once you get clear of the first. a good bit of up and down hill and ditches to cross.

The driving range parallels the first and despite a high net balls do find their way right across the first fairway. Don't duck hook off the first as you'll be hunting among range balls at the foot of the fence - they do have a free drop rule to cover this situation.

I'm 4 minutes from junction 9, off the M25 if you fancy it. £20 members guest green fee..............

Hmmmmmm

As tempting as that is, it would take me an eternity to get there in rush hour as its pretty much the exact opposite side of London to where i'll be! I dont think we'll be finished til 5ish.

Ta for the offer though fella.
