Hi all. My pp ball was about a foot inside a boundry fence. Obviously its almost impossible to have a swing at it, so he put his club agianst the fence then just dug down on the ball. Effectively having no backswing.

It just looked wrong to me, but he was sure it was a legal shot, consenus in the bar afterwards was on his side.

It was only a mates game, so no worries about playing in a comp

Probably looked odd because he didn't swing back; but it sounds OK from your description (he had at least 1'...that's a lot!)

Do you mean he scooped it? sounds like the equivalent of a push shot in snooker, therefore illegal.

It wasnt a scoop, more of a jab.

If there was distinct forward movement and the ball only made momentary contact with club head, I would say it sounds ok.
