So after a successful day with the cricket team yesterday and a few beers in the clubhouse I've taken it on (been nominated ) to start a proper society:mad:
Any advice, other than don't do it? Any good (free) software for tracking handicaps etc?

set out its intentions at the beginning

How competitive, how often? How flexible? Cost expectations etc.

Don't suprise people with anything or you will get lots of drop outs

Lay down the rules in writing at the beginning. Discuss where you want to play, costs etc. Explain how the handicaps will work (assuming some won't have official handicaps) and be aware that there will be drop outs when you book events. Get cash up front
