Stand bag ok on a trolley?

This may be a bit of a daft question but I usually use a trolley when I play and have had my dunlop bag which came with my first set of clubs attached on it. The stand legs don't work well anymore which I'm guessing is just a likely to be because its a cheap bag as due to wear from using a stand bag with a trolley.

Is it generally ok to use a stand bag rather than a cart bag on a trolley or does this knacker up the stand leg mechanism? Ideally I'd like to do this to have the option of carrying the bag if I wanted to.

Also does anyone have the nike xtreme iv stand bag? Just wondering if its any good as I need a new bag and can get this one in red for about £40 using my loyalty points at onlinegolf?

Thanks

Nothing wrong with using a stand bag on a trolley I used my Taylornade stand bag on my trolley for years and it never damaged the bag mech. Have a trolley bag on it now but that's only so I can pack my bag with more gear.

Should be fine, the only reason stand bags aren't always good on a trolley is because the shape means they can be prone to falling off easier. Most new stand bags are designed to sit quite comfortably on trollies too.

I've got the Nike performance stand bag and can't fault it for build quality so would expect the extreme to by much the same. Although for some reason, it is the noisiest bag I've ever used, even though it has 14 full length dividers I clatter like a one man band when walking down the fairway.

When I was looking for a bag I went on Youtube and searched for reviews where they explain the all the functions, quite often they will mention compatibility with a cart.

I'd agree with Danny, most of the newer stand bags are.

My stand bag fits very nicely on my Stewart Z3 trolley, no problems at all. The bag has straps at the base to hold in the legs when required. If yours does not have these, then you may need to use something like a bungee cord to hold the legs in.

Thanks, sounds like it'll be ok. I did check on youtube and found a couple of reviews of the bag which looked good, plenty of pockets which I like as I'm a bit anal about organising kit. No mention of cart compatability but hopefully it'll be ok.

My nike xtreme iv bag arrived yesterday, loaded all my clubs and bits into it and so far I'm very happy. Far better than the dunlop stand bag that my first set of clubs came in. Loads of pockets including a cool pocket for drinks and valuables pocket, feels well made and is very light with good shoulder straps. For the £36 I paid after using my online golf loyalty points its a bargain.

It does also have two little bits for the legs to slide into to stop them springing out when using a cart.

I had the same issue until I tightened up the shoulder straps a little, then quiet as a mouse :)
