Looking to get a stand bag as a birthday present but have no real idea which are any good as I am a wussy trolley user. Not looking to spend more than £50.00 so has anyone got any advice on bargains.

My wrabird stand bag is top notch, especially for a trolley, It goes on with the legs at the back so you can get too both sides easily. Is 80 quid though. Might get one on ebay cheaper

Oddly enough I would try and find one that's a light as a pencil bag but with the stand bit on it. Ive got a TM stand bag (£90)which is a bit of task after 14 holes and a much lighter SM pencil bag which is ugly as sin but good. If it had a stand I'd use it exclusively in summer as the pocket carrying capacity is not so vital then.

Thanks for the advice, I am getting it as a present for someone else. A couple of people have chipped in and asked that I find him something gof related and I happen to know that his current stand bag is falling apart.

May take a trip to AG and see what Wilson ones they have.

gb72, Ive always been a tourbag carrier until the end of this year where I went for a leccy trolley as the bag was a bit too heavy for my new course. Today I purchased a new MD Golf Stand Bag.
http://www.mdgolf.co.uk/mdgolf_2008/clubs.php?category=stand_bag&product=73

I went for the yellow over black bag, cost me 40-50 quid, I never checked as it was on my account with the pro. Lots of hidey holes, drinks holder, padded watch/jewellery pocket and a waterproof section also, Im keeping a jacket and wind beater and theres still plenty of room. Best of all MD Golf are a local company too.

I am a big fan of MD Golf kit so will definitely be looking into that. The quality tends to be far higher than you would expect for the prices they charge. Luckily my local AG Stocks MD kit so will have a nip in there this week.

Use 2 Wilson stand bags, both broke very quickly with different reasons, stand on the first and broken strap on second.
tried Benross afterwards, pocket split and zip broke
now using an old dunlop bag my pro was selling off (£35). Best I've used. It's not made from vinyl/plastic (whatever the others tend to use?) so hasn't ripped and stand works fine - every time. In the future the 2 main things I would check ate the quality of the stand and how robust the material of the bag is.

Happy shopping.

I just bought a Mizuno Aerolite bag for $55 on fleabay, There isnt much about for less than $50 unless you wont a sunday bag which I am after aswell so I can take to work in the summer and get the bus straight to the course for a round.

This one is under $50

This is the pencil I am looking at:-

You can not complain for $20, easy to carry and lots of storage for a sunday bag.

Get yourself a decent bag that will last time, ping free style around £90, mini version of hoofer, weight is un-noticeable plus comes in some funky colours.

I always find that stand bags can be tight for drivers so may be worth getting this checked out before you buy - the one I have is tight to the top of the driver cover, but that might just be my bag!!

Was poking about the net after looking at this again and found the TM taylite which might do the job and is about on the money.

Ive found the build quality of my TM excellent but maybe someone on here has a Taylite and can comment.

I find the whole dual strap thing a bit odd....having carried a single strap TM bag for years. My Callaway (which I use on a trolley) had an izzo dual, I'm like a disabled octopus trying to get it on....can't even work out which strap is for which shoulder. Clearly a degree in bag strap management is out of my intellectual reach.

I agree with madandra, I was going to spend $110 on a Ogio Edge thinking its one of the best so it must be good. I went for the Aerolite 2 as its 3.5lbs and protects my clubs + has a fair bit of storage, and I know it wont feel like carrying a rucksack full of bricks, the plus side to it is I save my back and bought the 3 wood with the change and a few beers ;)

I use a Ping Craz-E Lite (last years model) which you should get into your budget.

It is light, pretty waterproof and has enough pockets.
