Hi all.
Can someone tell me please.
When playing in a Stableford comp, I usually mark the card per hole gross score / net score / points.
I total up my points & my opponents points after nine & eighteen holes.
I then enter the points for the out / in & total.
My question is.
Is there any need or requirement to also total up the gross strokes, minus the handicap & the net stroke score.
Thanks

Nope no need to do that

I always add up as a matter of courtesy. I also then ask the player if he agrees with the total I have down for them and go through it hole by hole. So 4 for 4 for 2, 5 for 4 for 2 etc. till I get to 9 and then say you had 19 points on the front 9. Do the same for the back and then total up. I sign, they sign and it gets handed in

It can make life a little easier for checking the points are correct, but of course is no value if a blob is recorded for at least one hole.

As said above, all you actually need to do is record the gross score and let the office/computer do the rest.

I just record the gross score and the points total to make it easier at the end. No obligation to do so of course

Which is easy for your playing partners because they're only recording blobs, ones and the occasional twos?
