H.I.D and myself are off to St Pierre next week. 3 rounds of golf and 2 night DB&B.Anyone been there to give us a pointers to make the stay any better.

Cheers

Played the Old Course last summer and have to say it's a quality course. I'm not a fan of parkland courses but I make an exception for St Pierre. It's a long course and apart from a 2-3 mundane holes the rest is a stiff challenge. I had no chance of playing to my hcp there. Savour the 18th, it's a cracking signature hole.
Didn't get the chance to play the Mathern, but I was playing with the St Pierre Captain& Vice Captain who both said it was a great course in it's own right but largely ignored by visitors.

Hi Krokodil

Just realised we are both at Teignmouth, I am now racking my brain who off 10 it could be!!
Send me a pm if you want to compare notes.

I played at St Pierre a couple of years ago and there is one hole that runs parallel to the main road. One of our players left their clubs and trolley by the road and walked about 50 yards further onto the green to play her shot , and we spotted a couple of guys trying to load her gear in their car. Ran back and managed to stop them . But beware keep your clubs close to you.

We played at the end of the season and it had been heavily used over the summer and was not in very good condition.I am sure this time of the year is probably a really good time to go.
We then went on to play Rolls of Monmouth and that was fantastic , even though it was exhausting. Book a buggie if you manage to go there.

Have a good time

Wacky, I doubt you'd know me, especially as I've only been chopped to 10 after having a pretty good 2008. I'll fire you a pm!!

Played the Old Course on Tuesday, excellent condition. Water comes into play on a few holes. Lost 2 balls on the 10th! It was a little windy.

Signature hole is the Par 3 18th, lovely to look at. Its a long hole though. Played alright didn't set any course records.

The hotel and the facilities are excellent.

On Wednesday we played The Mathern Course. Not as good as the Old Course. It did rain heavy the night before, so I'll put it down to that. Its the shorter of the 2 courses. It does have 3 very long Par 3 though, which I didn't make.

We went through Golf Breaks, paid about £130 which was excellent value for money.
