Has anyone played at St Andrews since the turn of the year? Just wondering how the courses there are standing up to the recent weather conditions.

Are they still playable or are they also flooded/sodden like everywhere else? Thinking of the Jubilee as I've played the New before.

PM Jimeroid, he is a member of the links trust so would have played them.

I've played both the Eden and Strathtyrum several times since the rains came, and the only problems have been at the far end of the courses. The 14th on the Eden was flooded just between the tee and the pond and a couple of bunkers on the 13th of Strathtyrum were flooded too. This was after a horrendous night of rain and to be honest it was surprising that this was all there was, as the road from Guardbridge to St Andrews was closed due to flooding. I have been back since then and there was no evidence of any flooding. Currently mats are in use or drop in the first cut, but it is pretty difficult to tell the difference between them as the rough is so low. Greens are really good for the time of year, but can be a bit difficult if there is any ice.

Thanks for that Clive.
