Jubilee is a great track, I played it in winter with some of the gents from this forum so the rough wasn't as big an issue as usual. Not really a weak hole on it, each one offered a different challenge. Nice holes at the turn for view to sea and good views of the Old Grey Toon on the last 2 or 3. If it's windy I fear scores could be high!

Ain't played the others, too old for Edinburgh nightlife reviews alas. :D

Haven't played St Andrews Jubilee, but Kings Acre is very good and Royal Burgess is just magnificent! Kings Acre is quirky, with some really challenging holes and a pretty laidback atmosphere. The Burgess is very posh and you'll need a jacket and tie to go into the main lounge for a drink. There is a Spikes Bar too though.

Night-life wise, Edinburgh has it all, although I'm past going out drinking on the town! :(

Agree about kings acre. nice course with only one silly hole - extreme dogleg (15th from memory). Rest of the course is very well laid out and challenging. Very well kept as well.

What kind of night are you looking for in Edinburgh? Agegroup, pubs, clubs, bars??? There's many places to go on a night out in Edinburgh, but much of it is spread out between the new town and old town. There's plenty of decent places to eat as well. Let us know what you're after and we can help you out :)

I've played them all several times Billser and you'll enjoy them all. The Jube is by far the toughest, Kingsacre is tricky if you're not finding fairways and Royal Burgess is a scoosh. Good choices.

Nightlife in Edinburgh;- George Street is now the place to be seen..but expensive.

Played the two Edinburgh courses, both pretty good.Kingsbarns is compact and enjoyable, as someone mentioned, the 15th is a bit silly but you'll be tempted to try and cut the corner.Burgess is nice too, quite open and forgiving. Not a fan of their dress policy though.

As for nightlife, the standard areas of George street and the old town are the places to head for, I prefer the old town, george IV bridge has few nice pubs.Avoiding Lothian Road=avoiding bother.
The real highlight would be a visit to my neck of the woods...Sunny Leith, where anything can happen and it usually does!

I'm one of the aforementioned forumers that played The Jubilee last January and I thought it was a tremendous course.
I believe it's the longest of all the St.Andrews links trust courses and we found it in the condition you would expect to find a course of that pedigree.

I loved the 8th.

As for Edinburgh, I prefer the Old Town in the
afternoon. Deacon Brodies perhaps(get your tea upstairs) and then down to Rose street at night.

And the 15th a great hole and very very tough in fact I would go as far as saying the final 6 holes are among the toughest closing 3rd of a golf course anywhere.Excellent course and in my opinion the best of the rest outwith the Old.
