It was indeed.
Rich reckoned it had only gone 25 yards, James confirmed it was 27 which made me feel a whole lot better

latest is red number, black 'distance' writing.

they may or may not have changed the core or dimple pattern - it's now 420. Sorry but I'm not going to count them for you but feel free to post if you do...

I recently got red "distance" writing from Sports direct. Didn't know any different until I was looking though a bucket of reclaimed balls at the weekend & came across the black writing ones.

No they are my usual playing ball. But as I say, I normally have red writing, but found a ball with black writing. Wondered if there was a difference. Found this thread so rather than starting a new I re-used this one

Not come across Srixon Distance balls before that I can recall - then this last weekend past I 'picked up' four of them while rummaging about in deep stuff. Maybe they are suddenly fashionable. Don't look the greatest ball on earth - but no harm in given them a hit down the practice range,

Where were you playing? did they have a blue "D" on them?

I love them as a ball for my playing style. They are cheap enough to not worry if they go swimming or on safari, but feel lovely of all clubs & putting them is a dream. Helped me to sink a few 10-15 ft putts last few times I have been out.

The four I picked up are this 'model' - and quite neatly one each of 1,2,3 and 4
