Am considering going to the Srixon centre of excellence at Studley Wood GC has anyone been to the centre or played there?

There is an offer at the moment for coffee & bcon roll on arrival, driver, iron, wedge + ball fitting and 18 holes for £50, if the course is worth playing I will probably go for the day.

Any comments guys?
 
That's a great deal for the fitting alone, to include the golf too is great.

I've been to the fitting centre and the service was awesome.
 
Used to be as member at Studley, its a cracking course and you wont be disappointed, that said Id give it until spring as it can get a little soggy in places in winter and weve had an awful lot of rain down recently.

Its a decent parkland course, with a cracking variety of holes, think it made it onto one of the hidden gem lists GM did a few years ago. Usually in decent conditions with great greens

Cant comment on the Srixon facility but if you do a search back Im sure some forumites had a fitting there pretty recently and feedback was excellent
 
Just joined Studley wood this month. Lovely course although slightly wet at the moment. In the summer it really is the best around. Had a lesson and a play with custom fitting yesterday and played today ( see my other thread about my FJ's splitting). The winter rate at the moment is £20 for 18, coffee and a bacon sandwich. Had a lesson with Andy and he's changed a few bits but beat my FiL today so all good! :-)
 
Normally play there a couple times a year - cracking course and a proper hidden Gem

Good test of golf.

As it comes into the summer the greens are lightning
 
BTW I've played there for about 5/6 years and was the first course I played! Played today with 2 members who are founding members and they wouldn't go anywhere else!
 
It's good considering the rain we've had here! Wet in areas but the greens were good today!

in the summer there's few that will beat it. Had chemicals applied today so the greens did look rather good!

I'd be interested in that as well, played there last year with Fish, Fundy & Liverpoolphil and I thought it was a a cracking course. Nice & local for me too!
 
Well that's a four ball! Suggest some dates and I'm happy to give it a whirl! It you want to include a bash at the Fitting stuff I can ask about that as well?!
 
As has been said already, it's a very good course, I'd book an advanced date ASAP at that price, or, it might be that rate due to the current conditions and green fee, it might naturally go up in April?

I'll be doing the 4ball for £80 later in the year again mate :thup:
